Welcome to Maya Sky Jewellery!

By using my services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). Please read carefully before purchasing. As a small, independent jewellery business, I’m committed to providing high-quality products with transparency and fairness.

1. Overview

Maya Sky Jewellery (as part of Shopify) is a one-person, artisan jewellery business that creates high-quality, handmade pieces. Because each item is crafted with care, there may be slight variations in design and finish, which adds to the unique nature of my products.

2. Returns and Exchanges

I want you to love your purchase! If you’re not satisfied, returns are accepted under the following conditions:

  • Returns are allowed within 30 days of delivery.
  • The item must be returned in unused, original condition, including any packaging.
  • You are responsible for return shipping costs, and original shipping fees are non-refundable.
  • I cannot accept returns on custom, personalized items, sale or discounted items, and earrings (due to hygiene reasons).
  • If an item is returned in damaged condition or missing components, I may refuse the return or apply a restocking fee at my discretion.

Exchanges:

Exchanges may be considered at my discretion. Please contact me before returning any item for exchange. Taxes and delivery costs for returns will be covered by the customer. 

3. Refunds

Once I receive the returned item and verify its condition, I will process the refund. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method, excluding shipping costs, within 7–10 business days.

If the return is not approved (e.g., the item is damaged, worn, or not in original condition), I will notify you.

4. Damages, Defects, and Issues

I inspect all products before shipment. If your item arrives damaged, defective, or not as described, please contact me within 3 days of delivery. Provide clear photos of the issue, and I will assess the situation, and if the damage is as a result of my negligence I will either replace the item or offer a refund. 

Note: I am not responsible for damages caused by mishandling, improper care, or natural wear and tear. For metal jewellery, tarnishing or discoloration over time is normal and not considered a defect. 

Any damage that occurs during transit is beyond my control. 

Liability for Damages during shipping: 

I am not responsible for any damages caused during shipping, once the item has been handed over o the carrier. 

If your idem arrives damaged, you will need to file a claim directly with the shipping carrier. I recommend checking the condition of your package upon delivery and taking photos of any damage for claim purposes. 

5. Product Care

To ensure the longevity of your jewellery:

Avoid contact with harsh chemicals, perfumes, or lotions.

  • Store jewellery in a cool, dry place, ideally in its original packaging.

Clean your pieces regularly with a soft cloth to remove oils and dirt.

  • For silver jewellery, occasional polishing will help maintain its shine.
  • Gold and silver Jewellery may benefit for being cleaned with mild soap and water. For brass and bronze jewellery I strongly advise to keep away from humidity/ water. 
  • Exposure to water / humidity such as swimming or sweating can cause brass and bronze jewellery to tarnish or develop a patina, or can cause it to corrode. 
  • Brass can cause skin reactions, particularly if it contains copper alloys which may cause greenish discoloration on the skin (a common reaction to copper based metals). This is usually harmless, but some people may experience irritation. To minimise these reactions, it's best to keep your brass jewellery dry and clean. Please make your own research before purchasing, I do not take responsibility for any of these reactions. 

I am not responsible for tarnishing, scratching, or damage due to improper care.

6. Shipping and Delivery

I ship all orders using reliable carriers. However, please note:

Shipping delays: While I aim to ship orders promptly, I am not responsible for delays caused by third-party carriers, including weather, customs, or other unforeseen issues.

  • Please note that custom-made or made to order jewellery may take up to 20 days to be crafted. After production, it will take me up to 3 days to post the jewellery to you. Please add to this between 3 and 20 days for your jewellery to be delivered, depending on where you are in the world. 
  • Lost or stolen items: Once your package is confirmed as delivered, I am not liable for lost or stolen packages. If your package is lost in transit, I will assist you in filing a claim with the carrier. I will notify you once your order has been dispatched. 

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and are non-refundable unless I make an error in processing your order.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

I respect your privacy. When you place an order, I collect personal information, such as your name, shipping address, and payment details, only to fulfil your order.

I do not share your information with third parties, except as necessary for order processing (e.g., shipping companies, payment processors).

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maya Sky Jewellery will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use or misuse of my products. My total liability for any claim related to a product will not exceed the purchase price of that product.

9. Right to Refuse Service

I reserve the right to refuse service, cancel orders, or limit sales at my discretion. This includes situations of suspected fraud, abuse, or unreasonable behaviour toward me or other customers.

10. Website and Platform Availability 

While I strive to provide a seamless shopping experience, I am not responsible for any issues that may arise due to the Shopify platform. 

In the event of a system failure, website crash, cyber attach or any other technical issues within the Shopify platform that prevent the processing of orders, I cannot be held liable for any unprocessed or delayed orders. Any issues related to the availability or functionality of the website should be directed to Shopify's support team. 

11. Cybersecurity and Unauthorized Transactions 

While I take the reasonable precautions to protect your personal and payment information, I am not responsible for any unauthorized access, cyber attacks or fraudulent transactions that may occur outside of my control. In event of cyber attack or data breach that affects your financial transactions, I cannot be held liable for any loss of funds or personal data. For concerns regarding unauthorized transactions, please contact your payment provider or Shopify directly.  

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Any legal action or dispute will be handled in the jurisdiction of my local court.

However, as my business is hosted on the Shopify platform, any data breaches or security issues related to customer data breaches or security issues related to customer data that occur within Shopify's system are outside of my control and responsibility. Despite my best efforts, no online transaction can be fully secure. By using my services, you acknowledge this risk, and I will not be held liable for any breaches in security beyond my control.

4. Sharing Your Information

I will never sell or rent your personal data. However, I may share your information with trusted third-party service providers for specific purposes, such as:

Payment processors: To complete your purchase securely.Shipping carriers: To deliver your order.Analytics tools: To monitor website performance and improve customer experience

  • If falls under the third-party providers I work with to keep your information secure and confidential.
